Visit from Grammie

So many exciting things have been going on at the Tanner house. Here are the highlights!

*My mom (Grammie) spent the week with us. This was her first time to see Will since he was born. They had a great time together and he was very spoiled! She watched him on Sunday so David and I could go out for a Valentine's lunch.

*I started a Mommy and Me Stroller class at the same rec center where I did my prenatal swim class. It's 3x a week. We spend the first 30 mins walking the track with the strollers and the last 30 mins is strength training. I have already met some really nice people.

*Will survived his first shopping trip with my mom and me. He slept for most of it and only woke up to eat. I had my first experience of nursing in public, but thankfully we were at stores that had Mother's Rooms.

*Will is 6 weeks old! This past week he's started smiling all the time. My favorite time is when I finish feeding him at 3am and he looks up at me with a huge grin. Melts my heart! But then I swaddle him and head back to bed. He loves to be held while he's falling asleep and will open one eye and watch you. So cute! Just recently he's discovered his left hand and likes to put it in his mouth. He's also discovered his tongue and likes to stick it out. It's so amazing how fast he grows and changes each day. The first month was really hard, but as soon as I see him smile I forget about all of the tears and struggles!

*Will has grown out of his newborn clothes! The 3 month ones are still a bit big on him, but at least he has room to kick in the sleepers.

One month!

I can't believe that Will is one month old! It's hard to wrap my brain around how much life has changed in the past 4 weeks. There have defintely been good days and bad days, but I wouldn't change anything.

Will has really changed in the past month. He looks so tiny in the pictures from his first day home. He's started cooing and making cute baby noises. He's able to hold things in his hands and hold his head up when I carry him on my shoulder. He's starting to gain control of his arms and legs and they don't fly around as much as they used to. The best thing he can do now is smile!! Thankfully he's starting sleeping 4-5 hours in a row at night. I'm actually getting used to waking up to feed him in the middle of the night. No matter how tired I am, I know that I'm going to miss these special times when he grows up.

Worst morning ever!

I would just like to vent about the Tanner's morning. First Cody had explosive diaherra all over the house last night. I turned on a light at 5am and yelled for David because the carpets were covered (totally gross image I know!). He spent 2 hours cleaning everything. Cody is on his way to the vet as we speak. Cross your fingers that it doesn't cost us too much money! The second thing that happened this morning was that I fell down the stairs with Will in my arms. I had on a pair of slippers that slid right off a step. I landed on my butt. I kept Will in my arms and I don't think he hit his head, but I was hysterical! I called the doctor and she told me to keep an eye on him, but that it's good there's no bump on his head. Cross your toes that he's alright. Now I'm off to sleep for a bit. On a positive note--Will slept great last night! He only woke up 2x and had 3 hours in between feedings. Yeah!!
