Memorial Day/Bolder Boulder weekend

What a weekend!

Thursday night Meagan and Rhett flew in from Philly. They arrived really late so we basically said hi and goodnight. They were brave and slept in the basement which they said wasn't too bad. Friday afternoon, David's parents arrived from Tulsa. We took Will to his first restaurant on Friday night. We went to Casa Alverez which was loud and crowded (typical Mexican restaurant). Poor Will was so overwhelmed with all the noise that he slept 11 hours that night (that never happens!!). My parents arrived on Saturday morning. Will had a great time being passed from one grandparent to another. He was smothered in kisses! Saturday night we ordered pizza and watched the Nuggets game. On Sunday we had a BBQ with our family and friends. The weather wasn't great so it prevented a few people from coming, but we had a great time with the people who did come. Again, Will was overwhelmed with all of the people and noises and slept 11 hours that night. (David and I are considering having a party every night!). Everyone was pretty tired after the BBQ so we ended the night early. The "young" folks stayed up playing ERS, the best card game ever! Then it was off to bed to rest up for the Bolder Boulder. Will and I stayed home as the race doesn't allow strollers. Rhett ran in the C wave and finished the 10k in 47 mins! Great job! Everyone else was in the MG wave. My parents left right after the race to drive to Las Vegas. Meagan and Rhett left early Tuesday morning. David, Will, and I went to Pearl Street with the Tanners. Will got a really cool kite from the kite store. By Tuesday afternoon, everyone had left and we all took a really long nap! It was so fun having everyone here (and I didn't get stressed out like I normally do!). Here are some pictures from the weekend.

4 month stats

Will has his 4 month check-up today. Poor guy had to get 3 shots again. But he's a trouper and is contently sleeping right now. Hopefully he doesn't get a fever or anything from the shots.

His birth weight was 7 lbs 10oz. His 4 month weight is 15 lb 3oz (and it's all in his cheeks!). He's in the 52% for his age. He was 21 inches long at birth and is now 25.5 inches long. He's in the 67% for his age. I can't remember what his head circumference was, but he's in the 79% for his age. He's all head!

The doctor gave the go ahead for starting food, but David and I haven't decided when we want to begin that. My mom comes out next week and she's very eager for him to start food, so we'll see what she says!

Swing!

We walked to the park after dinner and Will went swinging for the first time. I think he likes it!

4 months!

That's right--Will is 4 months old! We go to the doctor next week for his second round of shots. I'm excited to see how much he weighs. I'm guessing close to 15 lbs. He defintely isn't starving! He has started laughing alot at the most random things. He smiles all the time and is in a great mood unless he's overtired. We are still working on rolling over, but he's doing much better with his tummy time. He used to scream the entire time, but now he'll tolerate it for a few minutes. He loves to read books and hold them in his hands. His favorite toys are Brownie, a stuffed dog, and Burpy, a burp cloth. Whenever anything comes close to his mouth, he'll try to bite it. David's thumb is a favorite thing to chew on. Will and I went to the library for the first time this week. They have a great children's program that we are going to start participating in. They even have a summer reading program for babies! David and I took Will to the mall for lunch over the weekend. He just stared at all the people and colors. I think it was a little too much for him!

Just in case you can't read his shirt, it says "these cheeks are made for pinching". Too perfect!

After dinner photo shoot

After dinner on Tuesday, we decided to have a little family time outside. I love how late it stays light out. Will is starting to enjoy putting his feet in the grass.
He has the cutest smile! Check out those cheeks :)

Playdate

On Tuesday Will and I hosted playgroup at our house. Our playgroup consists of two girls I met at prenatal swim class and their babies--Megan and Ezra. Each time we get together I'm so thankful that I went to that swim class. It's so fun to have friends who understand what you are going through and who can share their experiences with you. This is the first child for all three of us so we have lots of questions! Since the weather has started becoming nicer, we have been meeting at the lake near my house to walk in the afternoons. The babies usually fall asleep and the moms chat. It's great plus we get exercise!

This was the first time all of the babies were awake for most of the playdate. Megan is 6 mons old, Will is 4 mons old, and Ezra is 3 mons old. They are still too young to actually play with each other, but they do enjoy staring at one another.
