Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. We started off the weekend at a nearby farm. Will has really been interested in cows lately so I knew he would love seeing them up close. We saw cows, horses, goats, sheep, and a bunch of other farm animals. He (and us) had a wonderful time! Saturday night we had two couples and their children over for dinner. It's so fun to be able to relax and enjoy each other's company. The kids had a great time screaming during dinner, but it didn't matter since we weren't out in public!

Sunday morning, we woke up bright and early and ran a Mother's Day 5k race in Denver. I haven't really been interested in running lately, so I pretty much thought I was going to die during the race. But I surprised myself by running the entire thing and finishing in 35 minutes! What a great way to start Mother's Day! My friend Lisa ran it with me. (I had a picture of us on the blog, but it got deleted and it's too much trouble to re-post it!). We treated ourselves to pedicures afterwards.

All in all, Mother's Day was perfect--the weather was beautiful and I spent it with the people I love!

As usual, he's already looking at the next thing we are going to do. Too busy for a picture with mom!

Colorado Springs

Hey guys. This is Will again. I just have to tell you about my very exciting weekend trip to Colorado Springs.

My mommy and daddy woke me up on Saturday morning and told me we were going on vacation. I didn't know what that meant, but it sounded fun! We got in the car and stopped at a store to buy some things and then we got gas....is this a vacation?? After all of those chores, we got on the highway and drove for a few hours to Colorado Springs. I had a great time watching all the trucks drive past us...and then I fell asleep for the rest of the drive. When I woke up we got out of the car and went into a hotel. I ran around for a while and then it was back in the car to find lunch. We ate lunch at a restaurant that was in an airplane! It was very cool to pretend to fly the plane and to see all the airplane decorations. I had a very yummy grilled cheese sandwich which I dipped in ketchup.

After lunch we stopped at a park so I could test out the swings. They passed my test!After the park, we got back into the car and drove to the Olympic Center. We took lots of pictures in front of the USA rings.

I was fascinated by this huge picture of a hockey player. Maybe I will play hockey when I grow up!

While we were outside of the Olympic center, I found a pinecone. I had to sit down and show the pinecone to each and every person who walked by. Mommy called me a "ham" and a "flirt". Silly mommy :)

After the restaurant, park and Olympic center we headed back to the hotel to relax. What is more relaxing that running around without your clothes on?! Mommy finally caught me and forced me to get dressed and go out to dinner with our friends Mickey and Allison. We had pizza and ice cream for dinner. I stayed out way past my bedtime and was very tired when we got back to the hotel. I went right to sleep and slept all night long!

I was a little confused when I woke up on Sunday morning, but then I remembered that we were on vacation so I was happy again. We had breakfast and then packed up the car and headed to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. I love zoos! This zoo is extra cool because the first thing you get to do is feed the giraffes! It was so fun!!

Mommy got very excited when she saw that the zoo had a moose. I also got excited, but then I fell and bumped my chin on the ground so my excitement was replaced with tears.

But who could be sad when they are in a petting zoo full of chickens and roosters?! Not me! I had a great time chasing them and squealed each time they looked at me.

I love my family!

We had been at the zoo for 2 hours when all of a sudden it got cold and started to snow! So we headed to the gift store and I bought a giraffe named Cheyenne.

After the zoo, we walked around a fancy hotel called the Broadmoor. It wasn't so cool to me because I wasn't allowed to touch anything. Then we had lunch at a train depot restaurant. I love phones and couldn't walk by this one without touching it.

I had a wonderful vacation with my mommy and daddy. Can't wait for our next one!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! David's parents joined us for the weekend festivities. They arrived on Friday morning and went to gymnastics with us. Will loved showing off his jumping and running skills. Friday night we had dinner at the mall and saw the Easter bunny. Will had already sat on the bunny's lap so we just looked this time. He loved the bunny the first time he saw him and squealed when he saw him the second time. He actually wiggled out of David's arms so he could run up the fence around the bunny. He was terrified of Santa, so I didn't know what to expect with a large bunny, but he was so excited!

Saturday morning was the Lafayette Easter egg hunt. It was much of a hunt as it was a mad chaotic grabbing of eggs. They spray painted a white circle on the grass and everyone had to stand outside of the circle. Then they dumped plastic eggs and bags of goldfish all over the grass. Someone yelled "go!" and all the 1-2 year olds took off grabbing eggs. Will didn't really get it at first; he kept trying to open the eggs one by one. But he managed to grab a few good eggs with my help. All in all, the hunt lasted for 2 minutes. But it was so fun watching him get excited over his finds. After the hunt, we went out to lunch with some friends. It was a great day! Saturday afternoon/evening was date night for David and I. We ran errands and had Mexican food for dinner. Yum!! Not the most exciting date, but we had fun.

Sunday was Easter. We were planning on going to 8am mass, but Will was sleeping. 10am mass, he was still sleeping! He was so worn out from the pervious day's activities that he slept until 10:30am! That's unheard of in our house. So we finally made it to noon mass and came home to prepare a yummy Easter dinner. Our friends came over for dessert and a small egg hunt. Wyatt and Will had a wonderful time running around looking for eggs and being silly together.

Monday morning the Tanners left and our lives went back to normal. We are resting up for the next invasion of family in May for the Bolder Boulder.

Grammie visits again

Hey guys. This is Will. My Grammie came last week to visit me. Here are some of the fun things we did together.

The weather was really warm so we went to the park. I love going down the slides by myself!

Mommy didn't make me go to the YMCA with her so Grammie and I were able to watch Mickey Mouse every morning. I love him!

I took Grammie to a museum that lets me touch whatever I want. I like to take out every puzzle and then run away.

I also like to play with the trains at the museum.

My daddy took the day off and we all went to the zoo. Look how close I am to the lion! I learned how to roar like a lion.

I took Grammie to my gymnastics class and showed her the foam pit. She didn't want to jump in with me.

Grammie made me eat off a plate instead of just my tray. But she makes good food!

Snowshoeing

Last weekend a group of friends and I rented a house outside of Nederland (in the mountains). It was the perfect house--5 bed/bath, huge deck, great views, and a hot tub!! I hadn't been in the mountains for a while so the drive up was hard on me. But I felt better once we were at the house and I was able to drink water (and wine!). It was so fun to get away from being mommies and to be able to get to know my friends better. The coolest feature of the house was that it came with 8 ski passes to Eldora ski resort. David and Will came up on Saturday to go snowshoeing. It was Will's first time in the mountains since the incident at Breckenridge so I was nervous. But he did great and seemed to enjoy riding in the backpack.

Sorry for the lack of postings....I've been too busy chasing Will around the house! About 3 weeks ago, he decided to give up crawling and started walking/running everywhere. My heart just melts when I see him toddling towards me. It's the cutest thing! Here are some pictures from recent events.

*Will has 4 teeth (2 on top and 2 on bottom). I can see another top one coming in and possibly a bottom one.
*He has started repeating words after us. Some favorites: belly button, bottle, mama, dada, bye-bye, all done (of course only David and I can actually understand him!)
*He's getting hair!
*He has a best friend named Wyatt. They are crazy together! They tackle each other and then laugh really loud. They get so excited whenever they see each other. We call them 'baby destruct-o" because they destroy whatever is in their path!
*Will has picked up my love of organizing. Whenever he finds something that's in the wrong place, he'll move it back to where is belong. He loves the vaccum and shrieks whenever it comes close to him. He also loves helping with laundry and emptying the dishwasher.
*His favorite tv shows are Imagination Movers, Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Chuggington. (all on the Disney channel in case you would like to watch them).
*He loves to turn on music and dance.
*We can't go anywhere without people stopping to comment on how cute he is (I'm allowed to brag!!). He loves to wave at people and won't stop until they wave back.

*He loves to climb the stairs and knows how to go up and down by himself.
